FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is the MicroBiome Run?
It is the name of both a 180-day health programme and the 2024 demonstration event that showed what the programme can achieve. The programme combines gradual lifestyle change — training, sleep, diet — with microbiota transfer therapy.
What are UltraBiome capsules?
Lyophilised human microbiota capsules prepared from the stool of carefully screened endurance athletes. They are administered orally, under medical supervision, once the recipient’s body has been prepared to receive the bacterial matrix.
Who can join the programme?
People with insulin resistance, type II diabetes, obesity or metabolic syndrome who want to become physically active — and athletes who want to optimise performance. Every participant is assessed individually.
Is MTT a medical intervention?
Yes. Microbiota transfer therapy requires specialist indication and significant clinical experience. UltraBiome capsules are used only if all medical eligibility criteria of the programme are met.
What is TestBiome used for?
TestBiome capsules are used during the compatibility testing phase (days 151–200) to find the best possible combination of lyophilised human microbiome for the given recipient.
How do I become a donor?
Ultra runners can apply to the donor network. Screening covers a full medical work-up, parasitology and a pathogen panel, and is repeated regularly for active donors.
